“Minsk Forestry Enterprise” State Forestry Institution is situated in Minsk District within the borders of Minsky, Dzerzhinsky, Pukhovichsky and Uzdzensky administrative districts. A basic orchard, a forest hunting range and seven forest divisions are parts of the forestry:

The forest reserves are within the jurisdiction of Minsk Forestry Enterprise and occupy an area of 40 thousand ha, including the forested area of 35.2 thousand ha. All the forests belong to group I of which 5 protection categories have been singled out. The average age of stand is 56 years.

In 2008 the Institution “Minsk Forest Enterprise” underwent certification evaluation in accordance with the requirements of STB 1708-2006 “Sustainable forest management and forest use. General Provisions”, upon which a certificate of conformity valid till 27.05.2011 was issued. In the same year the Enterprise received a certificate of conformity for origin-certified products in accordance with the requirements of Technical Code of Common Practice TKP 5.4.03-2005 “Nation certification system of the Republic of Belarus. Forest certification system. Rules of forest products and their derivatives identification upon origin” valid till 27.05.2011. The certificates were issued by the Unitary Enterprise “Belgiproles”.

 

The Forest Enterprise extracts wood in the round as well as firewood.

 

It sells the products to the enterprises and the population of the republic on either self-haul or delivery terms.

 

Forest products is exported to Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Finland on LSB terms by railway transport.

 

The Forest Enterprise carries out harvesting of minor forest products: making birch syrup, bath besoms, bath and household brooms, storing fruits and berries. A bee-garden is provided in the Putchinskoye Forestry.

 

The basiс orchard is used for growing of planting material of basic forest-forming species (seedling and foundation stock of pine tree, fir tree, oak, etc.) for internal needs as well as for planting of decorative planting stock for settlement and private farm yards landscape gardening. Mini-dendroparks are created in the forestries.
